Welcome to Austin Bird Control: Prevention and Removal of Unwanted Birds

Our company specializes in resolving problems caused by birds in Austin, Texas, both residential and commerical. We handle bird species such as pigeons, starlings, grackles, sparros, and even Canada Geese and woodpeckers. We generally don't kill birds - we prevent them from causing problems. Most commonly, this means that we install barriers that prevent them access to your building or property, or anti-roosting devices that prevent them from landing, nesting, or roosting on your home, store, building, or anywhere. We use netting, needle strips, shock track, and more. We do offer trapping in some cases, and removal of birds from warehouses, grocery stores, or other commerical or industrial buildings by netting or sometimes pellet shooting. We have a wide variety of tools and methods for solving every manner of bird problem. Call us at 512-384-1602 to discuss your bird problem today.

1

Netting

Stop Birds From Accessing Your Space

We stop birds from entering almost any space by installing netting. It is strong and durable, but thin and black so that it is not visually distracting. We can prevent birds from flying or roosting under awnings, roofs, or any other architectural area.

2

Anti-Roosting

Stop Birds From Landing Or Roosting

We install needle strips or shock track on ledges, beams, the tops of signs, and anywhere birds are roosting and causing unsightly and unhealthy droppings. We can reach any area with our ladders and boom lifts.

3

Cleanup

We Clean Droppings and Nesting Material

Birds can make a mess with their droppings - on your building, roof, or the ground, or any other area. Sometimes bird guano and nesting material accumulate. We professionally clean and decontaminate the area.

Noise Repellents for Pigeons: What They Are & If They're Worth It

There are a few different options when it comes to noise repellents for birds, specifically pigeons, although you'll probably notice that any kind of noise disturbance around the birds will send them packing. The sad part of the story is that they'll usually come right back once the noise has stopped, which doesn't actually get rid of the pest problem at all. In fact, it makes it worse.

For the times when you can't just go outside and make a racket to try and disperse your newfound flock, you could always put your faith in ultrasonic sound devices. These are designed to send out a noise that is far too high-pitched for the human ear to pick up, but it is a disturbing noise for the pigeons. They aren't supposed to like it much, so whenever that noise is going on, they'll simply leave the area that it affects.

Just as with you physically heading into the yard to make noise yourself, though, ultrasonic noise repellents for pigeons and other birds only actually work when they're turned on. You might find yourself lucky and keep it up for enough time to drive away for the birds for good, but this can take days, weeks, and potentially even longer than that. All the while, of course, they're defecating all over your property, spreading disease, and chomping their way through half of your back garden. Oh, and preventing the kids and pets from being able to go out there at the same time. To say that pigeons can be awfully destructive and disruptive would be an understatement.

As well as potentially taking a very long time to get rid of the birds for good, and in some cases not getting rid of them at all, there are other serious disadvantages to using noise repellents as a form of bird and pest control. You must take into consideration that the pigeons will not necessarily be driven from your property, but will instead just be driven to a place where the annoying noise doesn't reach them. (Assuming it actually works at all.)

When the ultrasonic sound device or other item is turned off, the pigeons have no reason to stay away. This means that you'll need to have the device on all day — when the birds are physically seen in your yard. You might also need to leave the device switched on overnight, too, however. If you have pigeons inside the property, such as the attic, turning the device off at night will be detrimental. They'll still roost in the place that you don't want their presence in.
